How It All Began
Hi, I’m Victoria, the heart and hands behind Hope and Hooves Rescue & Sanctuary.
This sanctuary started as a dream — the kind that tugs at you and won’t let go. I’ve always felt a deep connection to animals, especially those who are often overlooked or cast aside. Over time, that quiet calling turned into a mission: to create a peaceful, loving space where rescued farm animals can heal, thrive, and simply be.
For me, it all began three years ago when I saw a post on Facebook about a goat who desperately needed a home — or she’d be sent to slaughter. I couldn’t just let that happen. Within a few days, we put up fencing and built a small shelter, and that little goat came home. We like to call her “the goat that started it all.”
Since then, everything changed. I started attending auctions from time to time, and what I saw there broke my heart — animals herded into pens with fear in their eyes, treated like they didn’t matter. I knew I couldn’t just watch. I had to do something.
In just a few short years, we’ve grown from one goat to a family of goats, bunnies, sheep, donkeys, and horses — and we don’t plan on stopping anytime soon. We are building this sanctuary one step, one rescue, one heart at a time.
I’m doing this with my husband- creating something meaningful from the ground up. It's not always easy, but it's absolutely worth it. Every fence built, every space made safe, every animal who finds peace here is a reminder of why this sanctuary exists.
Thank you for taking the time to learn more — and for walking beside me on this journey. I’m so grateful you’re here.
